APG's has signed business agreements with our partners that guarantee us the right to own one-third of the natural gas pipeline. This may be achieved over the first 10 years of operations.
We have a seat at the Board table of the Mackenzie Gas Project, assuring us the right to have our say in management decisions affecting the development, construction and operation of the pipeline.
We have set up the Mackenzie Valley Aboriginal Pipeline Limited Partnership to oversee APG's pipeline business. Members of our Board of Directors are Aboriginal people from the Northwest Territories.
We have a risk-free loan from TransCanada PipeLines to pay for our share of pre-construction costs. At present our share of those costs is over $140 MM. If construction of the pipeline does not proceed, we do not have to repay this loan.
This is a very good deal for Aboriginal People.
